I visited “Shiose Sohonke” which was an oldest Japanese-style confectionary store established in 1349. It is located around 10 minute walk from Tsukiji station.
Today’s purpose was to have “Honmanjyuu” which was said to have been presented to Ieyasu Tokugawa. Manjyuu of Shiose was said to be loved by many famous warrior such as Nobunaga Oda, Mitsuhide Akechi, Hideyoshi Toyotomi and Ieyasu Tokugawa.
I bought “Honmanjyuu (¥432)” and went directly back home.
Manjyuu I bought was in a box with quite a historical design.
Each of them was in a plastic case.
A gloss of red bean paste stipulated my appetite.
Delicious!! Red bean paste had good texture and was not that sweet. You could enjoy taste of them to the full. This Honmanjyuu doesn’t have any preservatives, so you should eat them within a day. All tourists are requested to have them at hotels right after your purchase.
