I went to Tsukishima, a sacred place of Monjya, where more than 50 Monjya restaurants were crowded together. The restaurant I visited was “Iroha” established in 1955. This time I made a reservation. Three groups of guests coming after us couldn’t enter, so it must be necessary to make a reservation.
This was a menu. You would notice long usage.
Monjya only had 34 kinds. First, we ordered a popular mixed Monjya and Mentaiko, mochi(rice cake) and cheese Monjya.
Mixed Monjya (¥1,350). There were beef, Japanese scallop and shrimp inside.
First, we burned just ingredients.
We made donut’s shape bank and put dough inside.
When dough became thick, we broke bank and stirred them all.
Put green laver and baby star.
Sauce was light and sweetness of cabbage was splendid.
I took more than 100 pictures and I will introduce some of them.
Mentaiko, mochi(rice cake) and cheese Monjya(¥1,630)
This one was the most popular among us.
Put rice even though it was monjya.
Put thinly baked egg and ketchup. Looked like Omu- rice.
However, this was final posture.
We ate a lot. You could enjoy procedure of preparing monjya.
One advice before you come to monjya restaurant is It’s extreemly hot there inside monjya restaurants. I noticed all persons in charge wore T-shirts at “Iroha”.
