Speaking of Tokyo tour, this is a “must” place to visit. Therefore, today, I went to “Sensouji”. First, I started at “Kaminarimon”.
“Fujin (Wind god)” and “Raijin (Thunder god)”, which guarded “Sensouji”, welcomed me.
There is a splendid sculpture of a dragon on the bottom of a lantern of Kaminarimon.
Right after you pass through the gate (Kaminarimon), there is a Nakamise street. It is always crowded with a lot of tourists.
There is a “Houzomon” after you go through Nakamise street.
The two guardian Deva kings, “Ugyou” and “Agyou”, welcome you at “Houzoumon”.
After you pass through “Houzoumon”, please look back. There is a large straw sandal, the full length of which is 4.5 meters.
It is said this large straw sandal is dedicated by “Housankai” in Murayama-city, Yamagata-pref. once in every 10 years.
There is a five-storied pagoda on the left hand side of “Houzoumon”. It is 48.3 meters tall.
It is said that if you put the smoke of incence burner on ill part of your body, your pain goes away.
You rinse your mouth and hands with fresh water at the purification fountain.
This is a main temple. Let’s pay a visit. Your dream will come true.
Look at the ceiling of a main temple. There were pictures of heavenly beings and dragons.
I introduced from “Kaminarimon” to a main temple. How about that? Were there any places you missed at your last visit? It could look differently depending on your way of seeing.
I would like to introduce other shrines and temples around Asakusa.
