Today, I visited “Menya Hyakushiki”. It was located 30 seconds walk from Nishikoyama station. Under continuous extremely hot weathers, today’s purpose was to have “Hiyashi(cold) Tantanmen” of this shop, which was served only in summer.
I arrived there at 12:00 and found the shop was full with guests. I bought tickets of “Hiyashi Tantanmen”(￥850)” and “Oomori(large,￥150) and waited 5 minutes before I was ushered to a seat.
Noodles were medium thick and straight. They were very chewy. A soup was very thick but not at all heavy. All toppings made the dish a very refreshing one. It was very difficult to stop eating. ”Really delicious”, I screamed in my heart.
It was not at all hot. You probably enjoyed the dish more if you put Chinese chili oil on the counter into a soup little by little. Why don’t you try one?
