Today, I visited “Ramen Satouka”, which was aggressively expanded its business both in domestic and overseas markets. It was located a few minutes walk from Meijijinnguumae station. I arrived there at 11:05, 5 minutes past its opening.
If you ordered noodles at lunch time (Weekdays, 11:00~14:00), you could get a small Onigiri (Rice ball) for free.
Taking a look at menu, I found this shop offers all three kinds of ramen, shio(salt), shoyu(soy sauce) and miso, which was rare recently. This time I ordered shio ramen (¥870).
In the meantime, an onigiri came. I bit once and found no taste. I decided to have one with ramen.
Here came ramen in 4~5 minutes. Toppings were bamboo shoots, cloud ear mushroom, two kinds of roasted pork fillets, welsh onion, plum and Naruto.
Noodle was middle thin and firm, and matched soup well. Soup was tonkotsu(pork bone) base, but odor of tonkotsu was well removed. Mild and sweet. Everybody, from infant to adult, could enjoy this ramen.
Roasted pork fillet, which had strong taste, was really delicious having good contrast with sweet soup. On the other hand, bamboo shoots and cloud ear mushroom were light taste and gave good texture to the dish.
Balance among toppings, soup and noodle was excellent.
Finally, I had plum and made my mouth fresh.
I understand reasons why this ramen was loved all over the world.
