Today, I visited “Haneda Uenoten” in Ueno. It was located almost in the middle of Ueno and Okachimachi stations. It was 4~5 minutes walk from both of them. I arrived there at 11:00, its opening time. There was not anyone waiting.
There was an outdoor signboard saying large vegetable and large garlic were free, and small rice was free on weekdays.
I bought a ticket of Miso Ramen(¥790) and asked a person in charge to make it with large vegetable and large garlic.
A little while later, chopped raw garlic came. Strong smell came out of them. Ramen itself came 12minutes later.
Toppings were roasted pork fillet, bamboo shoots, welsh onion(raw), onion(raw), bean sprouts and Chinese chive.
Noodle was thick and straight which could compete with rich soup.
Soup was rich miso taste but not that salty. Because of thickness of soup, I got a feeling that upper and lower lips attached. It was strange to have rich and thick soup without having any heavy aftertaste. I had a guess that vegetables, especially chopped onion and ginger played a very good role to make it fresh.
In the middle, I put garlic into ramen. Garlic made the ramen completely different thing. Sweat came from my body. It was delicious with garlic, but I recommended to put them a little by little since their impact was too big.
This soup was so impressive that I would come back soon.
